I’m so glad to hear about you so far away in this enormous city.  Here in the Federal District your important work in southern Mexico is known.  I send you a big hug, and my best desires for you that you continue working hard for the health of all Oaxaqueños.

Much love,

I want to say to all who form a part of this marvelous team, that I’m very proud of you, because you keep going on day by day, supporting this cause which is for us all, not just for a few.  Congratulations for creating a consciousness about AIDS with your talks and with everything I see on your wonderful pages.  You motivate us to follow your example, to help others and spread this important information to everyone.

Best wishes also to Bill Wolf and Ayax Cruz that they have the strength to continue ahead in the prevention of HIV.

And to all who help this effort in whatever manner possible.

¡GRACIAS!

Dear Bill Wolf

Although it may seem to you impossible, I have just now had the opportunity to enter in the pages of the Frente Común’s website, going through it all.  It gives me great pleasure to recall the history of your creation, above all to know that your team has completed 15 years in existence.  I imagine something must be in the planning to celebrate this anniversary, because not everyday do we pass 15 years of work for the good of our community.

I want to say also, you have been a strong leader, as all know who have been a part of this organization, working hard for the benefit of those who have unfortunately contacted HIV/AIDS.  An even greater impact has surely been in the area of prevention among the youth and the general population in all our state.  I congratulate all you who are a part of this great team.

Long life to Señor Condón, that he continues being the most important symbol of our times!

Your friend,

Dr. Miguel Angel Ramírez Almanza

First President of the Frente Común Contra el SIDA in Oaxaca

"…
Congratulations from South America, Distrito de Mira Flores, Lima Perú, for the great work that you are doing to prevent AIDS.  God bless you from all my heart for this effort to serve your community.  In my country infections for HIV are increasing, though not yet alarmingly, still there are prevention campaigns.  I hope you continue with your work to inform the population.”

Dear Frente Comun,

I ran across your website several months ago in anticipation of visiting Oaxaca and had the wonderful pleasure of meeting Bill Wolf at Condón-Manía during my recent visit in late April.

I must say that I am so impressed by your organization's tremendous work and accomplishments. You are definitely a role model for other organizations.  As a senior nurse at the Center for Special Studies, an HIV Clinic with New York Presbyterian Hospital here in New York City, I truly appreciate your struggles and accomplishments.  I am very involved in our community outreach program and my colleagues were very interested to learn what you are doing.

I plan on visiting Oaxaca again next year and I look forward to visiting with you again.  Keep up the excellent work!

Sincerely,
Carlos Wesley Jackson, RN

“You’re doing a stupendous work, I salute you.  It’s a great campaign, especially the store, Condón-Manía, and your Señor Condón.  I can see there’s creativity in Oaxaca.  It’s fabulous to see that with simple ideas you can do so much.  Take heart, friends, you’re in a fight that is every day more difficult, but you have the energy to win the battles …

“As a public health professional, I think your focus is very good, trying to reach the youth, and I think your means of transmission is more that perfect.  I hope some day to share with you the experiences of my work which I find very enriching.  I’m learning a lot from your work, which is beautiful and worth copying.”

“The language is accessible and clear.  Good breakdown of key areas – who/what/where/why – this is always really important to me in navigation of any site.

“As expected from such a wonderful bunch of creative people and an arts/education organization, there’s an effective use of art and images.  Having action shots of workshops, events and faces of the community really enhances representation and inclusion..  Layout has a nice balance between art and text – effectively draws the eye in and around the different sections.  User interface – definitely very clear on how to get from one page to the next.  It’s good I’m given the option at each page to go back to the Main Menu as well as the beginning of each section.

“the Good Ideas theme is wonderful.  As community activists, we understand the importance of having concrete, specific things to suggest to people when they say How can I help?  The concept is a good way of promoting action.”

”Thanks and Congratulations!  The history of the Frente is very interesting, the photos and graphics great.  And you really seem to be reaching lots of people.  I have a feeling that though there are many AIDS organizations here, that there are more bureaucratic restrictions on the kinds of images they can use and their access to schools and young people.  GREAT WORK!!”

“Congratulations, everybody!!!   Your site looks great!  It really captures the spirit of the Frente, and the point of view that you have fostered.  It is educational, serious, yet hilarious and fun - and I do think speaks to a wide audience.  Anyone can see how serious you are, but at the same time, the emphasis on the involvement of the community who are obviously enjoying and working hard at spreading the message, is apparent.  It's nice to see all the people behind the Frente.  It shows a face of Oaxaca people don't see - it promotes a kind of activism that's doable anywhere once people get involved.  Maybe the best thing is that is shows Oaxaca AS a community, not just a tourist destination.  That's a wonderful achievement.

I think it works well.  Your interface is simple and easy to use.  I'm all for that!  I like the direct approach.  I hate websites that repeat the same information over and over on the same page.  I love your drawings, and maybe you can add more as time goes by.  They contribute to an overall look and feel that I like.

I think you've got just the right mixture of ingredients. You certainly have the statistics, facts, etc.  But also the biggest component to me is the human story of the Frente - the people involved.  All those pictures of who you are, your history of events and projects on a local level are very effective.  And I think that is how to reach an audience and garner more support.  The range of people from Doctors, accountants, community leaders, to the kids carrying banners and holding up Christmas condoms ( I love that pic of the guy walking under the long billboard) is a great picture of who the Frente is.  And, of course my favorite thing is Señor Condón sitting at his desk.  His bio is a riot - it is so very Frente Común!!!
