A Day in the Life of ...

... Señor Condón!

7:00 am.

Our hero rises early in Oaxaca, to greet another beautiful day in southern Mexico.  He has lots of work to do today taking his message of protection and prevention to the young people of Oaxaca.

 8:00 am.

Señor Condón likes to take an early walk in downtown Oaxaca checking that his message of “love protected” can be found in every corner of the city.  You can see he’s pleased with the results of the Frente Común’s popular street poster campaign.  You’re a cool cat, Señor Condón!

 9:00 am.

Our popular friend, Señor Condón, wants to start his big day looking good and so he stops in at his favorite barber shop in the city.  “I always come here, “ he says, “because they buff me up with water-based lubricants only!  Here they NEVER use oil!  NEVER use Vaseline!  NEVER use margarine!”  Thanks for the good words, Señor Condón.  We’ll remember.

10:00 am.

Señor Condón enjoys reading about himself in the local newspapers of Oaxaca because he knows his message of protection and prevention is reaching thousands of readers throughout southern Mexico.  He knows, too, that the continuing support of the printed media in Oaxaca is a  vital element in the fight against AIDS.

As a public figure in Oaxaca, Señor Condón often finds himself on the inner pages of the morning papers (there are SEVEN dailies in the city alone!), like this editorial cartoon depicting our hero “trampling out” ignorance, intolerance and misinformation!  Keep up the good work, Reporters of Oaxaca!

12:00 of day

Our Señor Condón enjoys stopping by the workshop where volunteers at the Frente Común are painting the street posters for the upcoming “AMOR Protegido” campaign for the Historic Center of Oaxaca.  He likes to congratulate the young people he finds there and  observe that their message of love and protection is going out to all the little corners of the city.  Good work, kids!

 1:00 pm.

Here Señor Condón pays a visit to his own professional laboratory where the quality of his condoms are put under lengthy and exacting laboratory testing.  He is very determined that all condoms sold out of “Condón-Manía,” the first condom store in southern Mexico. Be of the highest quality.  Visit Señor Condón’s favorite condom store, located at Trujano 622, in the Historic Center of the city.  Keep up the good work, Testing Team!

 2:00 pm.

As always, Señor Condón has a busy day today carrying his message of protection and prevention to all parts of the state.  Here we see him on the road to Tlaxiaco, a small community in the mountains of the Mixteca region of Oaxaca, where he has appeared a number of times through the local, small Health Center network in the area.  Have a good trip, Señor Condón!

 3:00 pm.

Here Señor Condón comes across a local Health Fair, and he again proves his growing popularity with the young people of Oaxaca.  He knows that each of his trips win him new friends and admirers who listen carefully to his message of “Te Quiero, Te Cuido” (I love you, I protect you).

4:00 pm.

Two of Señor Condón’s small friends are happy to see our hero, hard at work like they are, at the Frente Común’s information booth, “In Education Is Prevention,” in the large central market of Oaxaca.  He takes every opportunity to reach out to young kids with his basic AIDS prevention message.  Thanks, Señor Condón, you’re doing important work.

 5:00 pm.

Here Señor Condón surprises speaker Mari Bohórquez during one of her presentations in the city of Tehantepec, Oaxaca.  We know that Señor Condón likes to be sure that the information being given out in the AIDS talks by Frente Común members are always correct and complete.  He reported that Mari’s talk was “…excellent!”  Congratulations, Mari, and keep up the good work!

 8:30 pm.

As can be expected, for someone who does such good works, always for the benefit of the community, Señor Condón has received a number of worthy honors, like here, from the group, Youth Conscience, of the Casa de la Mujer Rosario Castellanos, he is named “Man of the Month” for his untiring during February, the month of “amor protegido.”  We ‘re sure the award is well-deserved!  Congratulations, Señor Condón!

10:00 pm.

As night falls in Oaxaca, our friend Señor Condón finds himself in the thick of the action.  He knows it’s important to accompany our young people wherever they go and knows his presence offers security and protection every night.  Just a few of the many reasons he’s such a popular guy.  We say thank you, Señor Condón, from all your friends, because we know…

…HE’S GOT ANOTHER BIG DAY TOMORROW!
