Bill died on
Wednesday, February 6, 2008, in Oaxaca, Mexico. He had an advanced
state of cancer. He never told anyone he was sick and he worked on his
art, his projects and his web site until the last minute.
At the time of
his death, a friend, Michele Gibbs, an American poet and painter and
long-time Oaxaca resident wrote the following tribute to him.
“Bill
Wolf was an artist to the bone. His spirit radiated menschkeit, alegria,
luz & piz-azz. His
concerns were broad and his commitments deep. His presence always made
a positive difference. Through the work of the Frente Comun Contra SIDA,
he saved lives. Bill was cool. Of his life we can say bien hecho! --
well done! He was with us until the last possible moment, presente y en
frente -- front and present; he is with us still.”
Bill’s obituary appeared
in the San Francisco Chronicle and there is a Guest Book at that site
with remembrances of him. Please visit it and add something if you
would like.

THE FUTURE OF BILL’S WEB
SITE
Bill and his friends did a
lot of projects under their own names and using the names of AAA Acting
Company and AAA Productions, first in the phone book.
Bill put as much of the
history of these projects on this website as he could before he died,
until he couldn’t do any more. He left a lot of notes and a lot of
files. Over the next few months, his friends will add some of those
unrealized projects to this site.
You can still contact the
site under Bill’s name and someone will see it. Ajax Cruz will be
maintaining the Frente Comun section of the site.
